When it comes to Barbeque everyone has an opinion. There are many opinions about where barbeque originated, some believe that it was created by German butchers who settled in Texas in the 1800’s, others believe it was created by cowboys during the late 1800’s on Western cattle drives, while some believe it dates back to the days of Genghis Kahn when soldiers cooked meat off their metal shields, or that it came from the French word “Barbe a queue” meaning whiskers-to-tail, we must not forget about the Taino Indian word “barbacoa” meaning meat smoking apparatus. No one truly knows the origin of barbeque, however we do know that Barbeque is an American Staple and a cuisine that has been in existence for several centuries and was originally created as a way to use under-utilized, tougher cuts of meat, by slow cooking them at low temperatures. The different styles of barbeque are endless from American regional styles, consisting of North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Memphis, Texas, Kansas City to Barbeque from all around the world, consisting of Mongolian, Korean, Thai, Hawaiian, Carribean, Indian, South American, Mexican, African, etc. The list is end-less, however these are a few just to give you the general idea.
The Q worldly Barbeque features meat which is dry-rubbed with our special blends and slowly rotisserie smoked to perfection! Our belief is that great Barbeque should be able to stand alone and that sauce is not needed if the meat is properly seasoned and cooked. This being said, we do realize that sauce is a good thing too. So we created a Worldly sauce bar for your enjoyment, where you can enjoy all the regional favorites such as Alabama White Sauce, Carolina Mustard, North Carolina Vinegar, Kansas City, Memphis, Texas, not to mention Hukuna Matata, Chili Mint Lime, Guiness, Bourbon, Mango Habanero, and Asian Saki. Whatever sauce you select will add a distinctive flavor to your barbeque.

Welcome to The Q Blues & Jazz Lounge, Cherry Creek’s premier Live Music Venue! If you have a passion for heart pounding Blues & Jazz and mouth watering barbeque, you will never go anywhere else. You will love the ambiance of this laid-back, charming underground location in the heart of Cherry Creek. There is not a bad seat in the house, you can enjoy live music inches away from the stage, at our bar, at a table, or from our two-tiered patio.
The Q Blues & Jazz Lounge features live music Wednesday through Saturday. Our live music includes Denver’s best local talent and outstanding national talent. You will never be bored with the music selection at The Q, since we have different music every night of the week, with house favorites playing no more than once a month.
Don’t Miss The Q Blues Jam every Wednesday night, hosted by Eric Boa and The Constrictors: Jodie Woodward and The Q's own Andrew Clapp. The Jam kicks off at 8pm. Be sure to show up early to get on the list, the Jam has been growing by the week. Bring down your axe, bass, keyboard, harmonica, drum sticks, cowbell, or what ever makes you want to shake it!
